Mary Brown
Founder and President

Mary Brown is a founder and President of BrownRichards & Associates, a national work-life consulting and referral service. Founded in 1977, over 35 years ago, BrownRichards & Associates is one of the premier work-life firms in the country. Mary is responsible for business development, and strategic planning for the company. She has expertise in all aspects of the business and oversees the strategic planning and marketing functions. Mary graduated from St Joseph College in Emmitsburg, Maryland, and attended Boston College School of Social Work.

BrownRichards & Associates pioneered the development of many corporate-sponsored child care centersand BrownRichards has consulted to over 300 business and other organizations. BrownRichards & Associates is known for its high-quality programs developed in accordance with standards established by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).” Ms. Brown is a member of NAEYC, Past President of the Association of Child Care Consultants International (ACCI). Past President of the Association of Child Care Consultants International (now The World at Work). She is a national speaker and presenter to many professional businesses and work-life organizations.

Teresa Pielage
Resource & Referral Manager

Teresa Pielage has over 25 years of experience in the field of aging and has her degree from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio. Her knowledge of how elder care services are delivered is very thorough and extensive. Ms. Pielage’s has longstanding and extensive knowledge of the range of elder care services and how they are accessed and delivered.  She began her career as the Director of Admissions and Social Services at Arcadia Manor Nursing Home in Cincinnati and then worked as a case manager at Western Hills Retirement Center. From there, she became Director of Residential Support Services at Lexington Health Center, an independent and assisted living facility in Lexington, Kentucky.  Teresa came to BrownRichards from her position as Director of Social Services the Alzheimers Care Director at the Golden Living Center in Marietta, Georgia.

Ms Pielage has many professional awards. She is the recipient of the Customer ServiceExcellence Award in 2007 and 2008. She was nominated for the Social Worker of the Year (2008 and 2009) by the Georgia Society for Nursing Home Social Workers. Teresa is the past president and education chair for the Georgia Society of Nursing Home SocialWorkers.

Teresa is an elder care manager at BrownRichards & Associates and, as director of our dependent care referral service, oversees the operation of The Family Referral Service.

Jennifer Near
Data Manager

Jennifer Near graduated with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and master's degree in Child and Family Development from the University of Georgia. She also has a certificate in Management of Non-Profit Organizations from the University of Georgia School of Social Work. Jennifer started her career at BrownRichards as a child carereferral specialist and now is the Director of Data Services. She oversees the data team and ensures that the data management system is functioning smoothly and that data is collected, imported and maintained in a systematic way.

Steve Pearson
College Coach

Steve Pearson is a "college coach" for the BrownRichards dependent care referral service. Steve has spent more than thirty years counseling students and parents about the college search-selection-application-financial aid process. After nearly a decade then Assistant and Associate Director of Admission at Mercer University in Atlanta, Mr Pearson spent over twenty years as a high school guidance counselor. During his twenty year tenure, Mr Pearson encouraged students to pursue education beyond high school. The percentage of college-bound seniors has increased from 40% to 90% under his guidance. His consultations cover the college search and application process, student preparation for ACT and SAT testing, career assessment and related training, essay and recommendation writing, and the exploration of available financial resources. Steve is a valuable resource for our clients and an asset to the BrownRichards team.

Jonathan Booth
Web Systems Developer

Jon Booth has 17 years of experience in website design, marketing, and application development and has a bachelor's degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 1996. He's worked with a number of successful Atlanta-area firms including Quantum Grafix, Wave Mechanix and MLT Creative as project leader and development director specialized in both designing custom systems and analyzing and updating pre-existing systems.

Jonathan came to BrownRichards from his position as web developer for Loyola University in New Orleans where he specialized in object-oriented PHP, jQuery and Drupal (CMS) site development.

Kama King

Kama King, a native of California, has been working in the aging field for over 20 years.  She studied at Hampton University and the University of Southern California and has her Masters of Science, Gerontology, (ABD) in 1997.  She has been with Brown Richards as an Elder Care Specialist for the last four years. Her specialty is her expertise and understanding of non-profit agencies and services for lower income individuals. Kama's work experience includes: Lead Resident Service Coordinator at Southern California Presbyterian Homes, Senior Care Action Network, Long Beach; Senior Services Case Manager at the Alzheimer's Association, Education and Multicultural Outreach Coordinator at the Golden State Care Center, City of Los Angeles. Kama is a Geriatric Care Specialist and does elder care consultations for our clients employees.

Sarah Stocker

Sarah Stocker oversees client services for BrownRichards & Associates and ensures that all client requests are followed up on a timely basis. She is responsible for account administration, marketing and promotional services for our clients. After graduating from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Family Development, Sarah worked for the Office of the Child Advocate in Georgia. Here she honed her customer service skills assisting constitutents with questions and problems regarding child welfare. Since coming to BrownRichards, Sarah has developed and conducts our webinar series.
